Chamonix Wine
Farm is located in the rich wine growing region
of the Western Cape, tucked away deep in the
Franschhoek Valley.
Once a part of the La Cotte Farm, granted to the
Huguenots in 1688, Chamonix comprises 300
hectares.
Chamonix is known for internationally acclaimed
wines, which include a Methode Cap Classique
sparkling wine, Sauvignon Blanc (a Fume as well
as an unwooded), Chardonnay (a cellar master
barrel selection), Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot
Noir.
The advantage of having a altitude variation
(250m to 600m) helps to plant each variety at
it’s optimal position to its suitable
microclimate.
Chamonix Estate also produces classic German
style fruit schnapps and aperitifs.
The Chamonix distillery is run according to
German distillery standards with genuine
imported German copper kettles.
Local chocolatiers produce Chamonix Chocolates -
fruit schnapps encased in Belgian chocolate.
Sourced from underground springs in the
Franschhoek Mountains, Eau De Chamonix is one of
the purest and healthiest water available in
South Africa.
Chamonix produces quality spring water to
leading retail outlets in South Africa and also
to restaurants.
Chamonix wines can be tasted and purchased daily
from 09h30 to 16h30 in the old Blacksmith’s
Cottage, a quaint building dating back to the
18th century.
The old Blacksmith’s Cottage is decorated with
antique saddles and horse memorabilia.
